How heavy are Sofia Waldorf earrings?
Our earrings are designed with wearability in mind. Most styles are lightweight, typically ranging from 1 g to 5 g per pair depending on the design. Statement pieces may be slightly heavier, but we aim to keep even our larger styles comfortable for extended wear. Weight details for individual styles can be found on each product page.

Materials & Plating

What are your earrings made from?
Our jewellery is crafted on a sterling silver (925) base. Sterling silver is durable, lightweight, and an excellent foundation for fine plating.

What is the difference between rhodium plating and 18ct gold plating?
Rhodium plating gives jewellery a bright, cool-toned silver finish. Rhodium is exceptionally hard and resistant to tarnish, making it ideal for pieces intended for regular wear. 18ct gold plating delivers a warm, rich gold tone and reflects the look of solid gold at an accessible price point. Both finishes are applied over our sterling silver base and are designed to maintain their appearance with proper care.

Will the plating wear off?
Like all plated jewellery, the finish will naturally wear over time, particularly on high-contact areas. How quickly this occurs depends on factors such as skin chemistry, frequency of wear, and exposure to moisture or chemicals. Following our care guidelines will help preserve the finish for as long as possible.

Sensitive Skin

Are your earrings suitable for sensitive skin?
Our earrings are made on a sterling silver (925) base with rhodium or 18ct gold plating. Many people with skin sensitivities find sterling silver and rhodium-plated jewellery comfortable to wear. However, sensitivities vary from person to person, and we recommend consulting your GP or dermatologist if you have a known metal allergy before purchasing. We do not make hypoallergenic claims on behalf of any product.

Can I wear my Sofia Waldorf jewellery every day?
